- We already use a desktop badge tool. How hard is migration? +
- Export your templates as PDFs and your roster as CSV. We import both and you keep the look and the records. Most teams are issuing badges out of BadgeBadger within a single afternoon. No migration fees on Solo or Team.
- Do you support our card printer? +
- Yes — almost certainly. We hand a print-ready PDF to your OS print dialog, so any card printer with a Windows or macOS driver works (Fargo, Zebra, Magicard, Evolis, IDP, the lot). We've added recommended-settings tips for popular models to save you fiddling with the driver UI; for exotic hardware you'll just pick 'Other / Generic CR-80' and the standard print path takes care of the rest.
- What about RFID, MIFARE, iCLASS encoding? +
- Encoding is on the roadmap and ships as an Enterprise add-on via a small local helper agent (browsers can't drive PC/SC readers directly). If RFID is mandatory for you today, talk to sales — we may be able to accelerate timing for your contract.
- Magnetic stripe? +
- Mag stripe encoding (Track 1/2/3, ISO 7811) is on the roadmap for Q3 2026 across the Team plan and above. Browsers can't talk to stripe encoders directly, so it ships via a small local helper agent — the same one that will handle RFID.
- Does it run on Windows / macOS / Linux? +
- It runs in any modern browser. No install. Operators on Windows and macOS use Chrome 111+. Kiosk mode works on iPad and Android tablets.
- Can different organizations or sites have their own branding? +
- Yes. Each tenant overrides its own primary color, logo, and template set via our BrandingProvider. One BadgeBadger account, every venue/school/office branded independently.
- Photo retention and compliance? +
- Photos are stored encrypted in your tenant. Per-org retention controls (30/60/90 days, indefinite, or never-store). Full audit log of every reprint. SOC 2 Type II underway.
